JENNY NAGY, Chairman of the Board
Jenny has held the position of Community Involvement Coordinator for Prior Lake – Savage Area Schools since 2004. Prior to that she worked in the staffing industry for 12 years. Jenny is an active school and community volunteer and welcomes the opportunity to become even more involved in the Savage Chamber. Jenny has lived in Savage since 2000 with her husband and 2 sons.
HEATHER L.L. KOERING, Secretary
An accomplished attorney with Eastlund, Solstad, Cade & Hutchinson, Heather has represented clients since 2000. Ms. Koering also began her affiliation with the Savage Chamber of Commerce during that same year. With enthusiastic support from Eastlund, Solstad, Cade & Hutchinson, Heather has not only served on the Board of Directors, but she has also volunteered countless hours over the years on the Holiday Party Committee, the Scholarship Committee and the Programming Committee. ESCH continues to be a generous sponsor for various Chamber events.
When she is not nose down in a law book or representing a client, Heather enjoys spending time with her family & friends and traveling. While in high school, where most students take drivers education, Heather attended race car driving school.
STACY SCHMIDT, Treasurer
Stacy is the Director of Liquor Operations for the City of Savage and manages the day to day operations of two municipal liquor stores. Her focus is on building a knowledgeable staff and providing exceptional customer experiences. Stacy will also be overseeing the opening of a new location in the Hy-Vee grocery store in 2017. Even after being in the grocery and liquor field for over 30 years, she still feels the excitement and adrenaline rush of opening a new store. If you have ever met Stacy, you know she is a people person. She takes pride in being involved with both the community and local businesses, and was honored to be named Chamber Volunteer of the Year in 2015. If there is an event in town, most likely Stacy will be there. Whether it is the new princess party at Dan Patch Days or Doggie Palooza, Stacy is always looking for ways to connect with the community. Stacy lives in Lakeville, is married and has raised two boys. She stays plenty busy going to sporting events, running in
ERIK PLAISTED, Past Chair
Erik is a former Savage Chamber Board Member from 2004 to 2006. Erik lives in Prior Lake with his wife Janelle and 3 kids (Jack – 12 yrs old, McKenna – 10 years old, & Mitchell – 7 years old). He has been the President of Sterling State Bank in Savage since their opening in the Fall of 2004, and worked for the company for 11 years. Erik is actively involved in Coaching youth baseball and softball and plays “old man” hockey and baseball despite not being very good. He brings knowledge of the community to the Board position because of working and living in the area since 2000.
Mark is a Senior Financial Planner with Strategic Financial Concepts. Mark is committed to building relationships based on trust and integrity. Mark has served on the Ambassador committee. Mark lives in Savage with his wife and 3 children.
DAVID FONG, Jr.
David is the owner of D. Fong’s Chinese Cuisine in Savage. D. Fong’s opened their doors to the community in 1996 which is also the year David joined the Chamber of Commerce. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors since 2007, David has also contributed his time and talents on the Golf Committee, Chaired the Dan Patch Days Taste of Savage and has served as the Chamber liaison to the Dan Patch Days Committee.
An avid golfer and cross-country skier, David and his wife enjoy raising their two small children together. When David is done writing fortune cookies for the day, he can sometimes be found shooting target practice at the local pistol range. Just kidding, he doesn’t really write the fortunes!
Rob is the President of KleinBank in Savage and has spent the majority of his 30 year banking career in the south metro area. He focuses on assisting small to mid sized businesses and business owners with their financing and overall banking needs. Started in 1907, KleinBank is the largest, family-owned state bank in Minnesota and was the recipient of the 2011 Minnesota Business Ethics Award and the 2012 Minnesota Family Business Award. He is a member of the Burnsville Breakfast Rotary Club, the Saints Healthcare Foundation (St. Francis Hospital/St. Gertrude’s) Board of Directors and also is active in other neighboring chambers of commerce. Rob is honored to be serving as board chair and looks forward to working with his other board colleagues to promote and serve the Savage business community.
Rob and his wife Kris live in Burnsville and have two daughters attending college (ouch!). In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, tennis, boating and attending just about any type of sporting activity. He can often be found with his two brothers attending Minnesota Wild games.
Travis’ Professional history includes, Business Development Manager at Classic Catering & The Picnic Pleasers, Volunteer Development – Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Formerly Executive Director – Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, Program & Event Manager – Burnsville Chamber of Commerce and Membership Associate – Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce. Travis’ service background includes; Previous member of both Burnsville & Savage Rotary Clubs, Director – Valley Athletic Association Board of Directors and Manager – VUSC (Apple Valley) Boys Soccer Team . She is mother to her son Welly.
Colleen O’Malley owns and opened Minnesota’s first and only Eileen’s Colossal Cookies in November 2013. Eileen’s is a family run franchise started by Eileen in her home in Nebraska in 1982. They make all of their cookies from scratch with the same ingredients you would have in your home. They have 12 flavors of cookies that are baked fresh daily. They offer custom decorated cookies from an individual size of 16″ Colossal Cookie. Colleen has been nominated Business of the Year Prior Lake Chamber 2014 and 2015, and awarded Business Person of the Year Savage Chamber 2015. Colleen’s 3 keys to success: Always deliver quality and you will create raving fans, Believe there is always a solution and you will find it, and Teach and respect your employees – they are the heart of your business.
Michele founded Birchwood Marketing in 2007. Today she remains the owner of Birchwood, a local, family owned business specializing in custom apparel and promotional items. Michele’s involvement with the Chamber got off to a quick start this past year as she has actively participated on the Ambassadors Committee and was elected to the Board of Directors. She has also graciously volunteered her time, talents and creativity on the Web Site Committee where she was instrumental in the launch of the Chamber’s new web site.
Michele enjoys outdoor activities such as photography, canoeing and gardening. Never one to miss a good show, Michele makes the trek to WeFest every summer. Cowgirl Up!
Anita moved to Prior Lake just four years ago from Canada where she now lives with her husband, Rick. She is an account executive with Colonial Life. In this capacity she specializes in helping businesses of all sizes with supplemental benefits. She became a member of the Savage Chamber of Commerce shortly after starting her business here. She has become very active with the chamber and shortly after joining became an Ambassador. Anita is progressive in networking and building new relationships within the business community. She has a proven track record as a successful business and marketing professional. Anita’s family provides her the most pleasure. When not working, Anita loves to spend time with Rick and their adult children. Whether driving back to Canada where her children still reside is a common weekend getaway or helping just having them all at their home with family and friends entertaining is a favorite. Anita loves tropical vacations, and enjoying beautiful Minnesota outdoors are great past times.
